Innovative Program: Free Lunch for Children International
Deng’s Free Lunch for Children program developed an innovative, effective, and sustainable way to provide free meals in schools by fostering partnerships and collaboration with communities, corporations, and governments. Our efforts led to the government announcing a national school lunch program for 26 million China’s poorest children. Deng Fei decided to go beyond the border.
In 2017, Free Lunch for Children International started in Kenya by providing free lunches to 1400 children in Kenya. We have received inquiries from more than 20 schools from following countries: Kenya, Ethiopia，Tanzania, Malawi, Nigeria, Ghana, Jordan, Southern Africa, Lesotho, Cambodia, Pakistan. The average breakfast and lunch cost for a child per year in Kenya are approximately $75.
